How often should you get adjusted by a chiropractor?
As a chiropractor we are asked this question a lot. To answer this question, we would ask how often should you be going to the gym to get stronger, lose weight, increase flexibility, etc? Most people understand the answer to which is the more time you put into the gym, the more results you will probably see.
So, in chiropractic this same principle applies to our patients. Now if the patient is really wanting to make corrective changes to their spine and their health, they will be coming more often for a longer period of time. Now a patient who wants to feel better quick, might just come for a few adjustments, but this never fixes the underlying problem, more so helps with symptomatic relief.
The best answer to this question about how often you should be getting adjusted is, for your entire life! You only have one spine and nervous system, and you should be taking care of it always!
How long do chiropractic adjustments take?
A skilled chiropractor can provide specific adjustments to a patient’s spine within minutes. Adjustments take minutes but the impact of that adjustment has positive lasting effects on the body.
What should I bring to a chiropractor?
The best thing a new patient can bring to their chiropractor is an excitement about finding out what is causing their underlying health problems and how chiropractic care can help their lives improve.
Any paperwork and insurance information we will ask you to submit to us prior to your appointment in the office.
What does a chiropractor do on the first visit?
On the first visit in our chiropractic office we will take you through a handful of some very important procedures.
First, we will do a complete spinal evaluation, posture assessment, and take some spinal x rays where necessary. Once we have this information, we will educate you on the principles and philosophy of chiropractic so you truly understand your body’s innate ability to heal naturally and how the problems going on within your spine are contributing to your lowered state of health. We will also discuss your goals and how our office can help you.
Next, we will go over the findings of your x rays with you so you can connect your current state of health and symptoms, to what is going on with the health of your spine and nervous system.
After the x rays are reviewed we will provide your first LifeGiving chiropractic adjustment in our office.
Lastly, we will go over recommendations for ongoing care based upon what your goals were and also the things we are seeing from a chiropractic standpoint.
Let the journey to better health begin.
