Sciatica describes a condition that affects the sciatic nerve, which is one of the largest nerves in the body extending from the lumbar back all the way down the back of each leg. Sciatica by definition is a compression of the sciatic nerve that causes pain, burning sensations, and discomfort throughout the affected area. The sciatic nerve sends signals from your lower back all over your legs and buttocks, so when it becomes compressed for any reason the symptoms can be severe enough to hinder your day to day activities.

Our bodies are incredible. They allow us to explore and interact with the world around us, and they also heal and perform so many functions without us even knowing. Unfortunately, even the most active and healthy people get aches, pains, and ailments they can’t explain. Chiropractors endeavor to help your body heal itself in a natural way, by restoring the balance of your nervous system.
Chiropractors replace traditional medical care with the time-honored practice of aligning the spine and allowing your nervous system to do the work of healing your illness or injury. This kind of care is still met with widespread criticism even though it has been around much longer than what we consider modern western medicine.
Most people who have received chiropractic care will probably recall the cracking and popping of joints, stretching and possibly the use of other tools like tuning forks. Because this type of care does not rely on potent medications consistency in both appointments and any home regimen your doctor gives you is key. Chiropractors can also help with some more unexpected things that people may not be aware of. Continue reading to see a breakdown of some of these things and how they can benefit you.
